CPDV App

My First App is now available on iTunes which is the Catholic Bible.   Download it , it is free.  This is the Catholic Public Domain Version (CPDV) of the Holy Bible. It is not the New American Bible(NAB) and thus some parts will be slightly different than the NAB such as the Psalms numbering. The CPDV bible is available online at www.sacredbible.org where you can compare the Psalms numbering.   The CPDV is based on the translation done by Ronald L. Conte Jr.   Thank you Ron for all of your hard work and making it available to everyone for free.  Please add your comments/suggestions.   If you prefer, you can email me at gregfairbrother at yahoo dot com

This app does not require a internet connection to read the bible.  The entire bible will be on your device after you download the app.

If you want an approved Catholic Bible app please see my Catholic New American Bible Revised Edition App.

thanks,
Greg

  4. I enjoy the straightforward interface of your app. It is very simple to navigate and easy to read. Any possibility of using the same interface on a translation of the Holy Rule of St. Benedict? That would be handy.

  8. I just got this iPad as a gift. I can't download a FREE app unless I open an "account" with apple with a credit card number!! Now I know why so many people hate apple!!

  9. This is a great App, but it is missing Psalm 10. What is labelled as Psalm 10 is psalm 11 in any other bible, causing a misnumbering of the Psalms from 10 onwards. Apart from that minor glitch though the app is fantastic. Thanks for creating it.

  10. Dear Greg: I love this app and I believe that it is a great service to all Catholics. Is there an updated version? I have been having some bugs lately and the app is very slow to respond. I just update my IPhone to iOS 5.1 and the app is having problems

  11. It would be great if you had a tab that pulled the daily mass readings. There was another app that did that and it crashed. I miss it and was hoping to find it in this app

  13. I like the app but there seems to be some missing verses. See psalm 18:28. Your app doesn't have this verse.

  14. Greg,

I found a typo at the end of Luke 11:26. Here is what it says:

"And so, the end of that man is made worse the beginning.”

There should be the word "than" between "worse" and "the beginning"

I am writing a book where I need to use some scriptures. Do I need to have permission from you to use the scriptures?
